Northern California is home to some of the best backcountry snow in the west and Mt Shasta is right in the middle of it. Whether your snowboarding, skiing, snowshoeing or snowmobiling, Mt Shasta city is your hub for getting out there. Mt Shasta (14,167 ft) itself offers plenty of activity for the snow enthusiast, from mountaineering to sledding, it’s all accessible within a 15 mile drive of a hot cup of coffee. Mt Eddy and the Castle Crags Wilderness to the west also get plenty of snow for playing in.

THINGS TO DO: Mountaineering, Randonee Skiing, Telemark Skiing, Splitboard Snowboarding, Snowshoeing, Cross Country Skiing, Snowmobiling

THINGS TO BRING; Skis, boards, poles, skins, etc;, Warm layered synthetic clothing, Dry clothes to change into, Sunscreen, Goggles/Sunglasses, Food/water, Cameras, just to name a few.
