There are 7 commercially run rivers in northern California and southern Oregon. These 7 rivers are the Klamath, the Rogue, the Trinity, The Scott, the Upper Sacramento, the Owyhee and the California or Cal Salmon River. Some of these rivers are so large and diverse they are divided into different sections based on location and difficulty.

On top of all of the commercially run rivers there are many other rivers and creeks that are accessible and privately run by boaters and fisherman. Some of these are: the Upper and Lower McCloud Rivers, Battle Creek just east of Anderson, Clear Creek emerging from Whiskey Town Dam, the Smith River east of Crescent City and the Eel River through southern Humbolt County.

With all of these amazing rivers the northern California and southern Oregon region is a veritable smorgasbord of whitewater rafting and kayaking.
