If you are looking for serenity in nature and an escape from the day to day toils of modern complicated living, you can find peace and well-being in the pristine wilderness areas of northern California and southern Oregon.

There are a few areas that offer groomed nordic trails. One of these is the Nordic Center off of the Mt. Shasta Ski Park Hwy. The Nordic Center has 25 kilometers (15.5 miles) of groomed nordic trails.

The Diamond Lake Nordic Center, 4 miles north of Crater Lake National Park on Oregon 138, offers Crater Lake ski tours that include a snowcat ride to the North Rim Ski Trail.

There is an infinite amount of cross country terrain through out the national forests of and public lands of northern California. Some of the more popular areas include: Bunny Flat and Sand Flat on Mt. Shasta, Castle Lake, Crater Lake, and Mt. Ashland.
